Methodist Hospital, Wenchi
The Methodist Hospital was established in 1951 by the Chiefs and people of Wenchi. It started as a dressing station in a small room at the current location of the Police Station. It was transferred to its present site, also in 1951, when a single block of the local Methodist Middle School was released by the Methodist Church under the auspices of the then Superintendent Minister, the Rev. Captain (Rtd) John Dixon, who was instrumental in getting the people of Wenchi a Hospital.
The Hospital has now grown to become a two hundred and thirty eight (238) bed facility which serves as a referral center for the 19 health facilities within Wenchi Municipality, Tain and Banda Districts. Read more... »

What Patients Say?
There were really wonderful, understanding nurses. They tried to be as helpful as they could be, very caring and very compassionate. I am fully satisfies with the overall appearance, Staff, Medical Doctors, Nursing Staff and Accommodation at the patient relative hostel.
I had an injury to my left wrist that required stitches. Everything was handled professionally and to my satisfaction. Each step of the procedure was explained to me before it was done. I was greatly satisfied. "I don't remember the names but everyone that I dealt with were great! Methodist Hospital is the best!"
Thank you guys for my new hip. My whole life was or had fallen apart last year! I have been on Oxycontin for several years and now I'm not. In short this was the best hospital experience I ever had. I pray that the Lord cast His blessings upon Methodist Hospital Wenchi especially Doctor Ballu (Orthopedic and Spine Surgeon), Denteh and all the nursing staff at orthopedic unit.
Thank you, Methodist Hospital Wenchi, for taking care of my father who suffered a mild stroke. Methodist Hospital Accident and Emergency Ward staff ensured a Smooth transition to the Males ward.
